About Reach Out
Reach Out - Support in the Community was founded in October 2014 by Andrea Whitehouse, who was dedicated to following on her previous charity work in a new, fresh and support centred charity. Although the we are newly formed we have a wide scope of experiences across our volunteer team, we strive to always put the people we support first.
Our volunteers
All our volunteers draw upon their own life experiences, as well as experience working within other charities, or in professional jobs. Reach Out was formed on the desire to help people in need, just as others have helped us in the past. Our volunteer team has been a huge motivation for the charity as their refreshing outlooks, and positivity when helping those in need has allowed the charity to move towards our goals. As a team we can draw upon many different life experiences and find the most appropriate way to help you.
Fuelled by passion
We are a versatile team of mixed ages, starting from as early as twenty. We are fuelled by the passion to strive for positive mental health and to promote emotional well-being. All our volunteers are DBS checked and undergo intensive induction and safeguarding training, as well as other relevant training as and when available.
Community
We welcome enquiries from schools, parents, individuals, social services and community organisations so please do not hesitate in reaching out and contacting us for more information; one of our staff will be more than happy to discuss our services with you.
Our mission
Reach Out is a support charity working with children and young adults who are suffering from emotional issues or conditions of emotional stress in the Wyre Forest area, by the provision of one to one support, group workshops and therapeutic service. We aim to improve self-confidence, well-being and mental health whilst reinforcing our core values of being inclusive and accessible.
